Final Piece, Human Fragility

Haven't been blooging much lately, or at all really, been so busy with the end of college and working when i can, that all i want to do is sleep when i get home. But now college is over! And here is a picture from my Final piece of my Final Major Project, don't know what marks i got for this yet but i really enjoyed it. I chose Human fragility as my theme and made porcelain dolls to represent it.

I will write more when i can :)

I love how the colours came out in this picture.

I really enjoyed this. I wish all work was like this.

Recently...

Well life has been going along okay. My public art project is finally over, i got 2 merits and a distinction which was okay. At least it's over now :) I've now moved on to my Final Major project which i should get all distinctions for if i work on it well as we've been learning to do project based work like this for two years now. I'm a little worried that i'm already heading in the wrong direction with it though as its meant to be about the fragility of the human body and instead i'm obsessed with pressing flowers and taking polaroids of the sky which isn't really helping. Spring is going to my head.

Decided on an art degree. Doing Fine Art at Winchester school of art. Sadly the fun bit is over now and i have to sort out finances and accommodation. Should be worth it when i get there though.

more to come xxx

Chickens are great for taking photos of, i thought they might be scared, but they just run right up to you. I'm not that fond of animals, but chickens i like, they lay eggs, they walk around and peck and don't demand attention. These chickens belong to some friends of mine. I had a birthday party over there and in the morning i got to see the chickens. Also, their lawn was a lovely background for the chickens. I want to paint a picture of one but i'm still busy painting landscapes at the moment.

The uni application stuff is going well, i will talk about it properly when i have made a decision etc though. Nothing is set in stone right now.

In a couple of weeks the Public Art project is over and we start our Final Major Projects. I am looking forward to this so much. Just exploring something new and i have so many ideas.

A week and a bit ago i got back from Amsterdam, it was a great trip but i have yet to develop pictures :)

Not much else to report. I will be very busy finishing my current project for the next couple of weeks. Then i am planning a road trip to the beach with some friends. Fun times will be had. :p

But i have started to learn to paint as part of my project. I find this exciting because in the past i've just gone by trial and error and now i am learning new techniques and colour theory. I've even uploaded a pic of an unfinished piece to show you.

New years eve was fabulous. Most fun i've had in ages. The champagne helped, and the company of course. I met some great people and saw some that i hadn't seen in ages. Scince then though i've been all busy again! It's my Birthday party this weekend (i was 21 on the 6th), so at least i can socialise. :)

So things have been busy for the past couple of weeks. I finished my ucas form and my illustration project. We've started a new project now, called Public Art. We are making art for our local children's ward. For this we had to fundraise for frames and materials. The picture is of two of my classmates holding the stall sign, the stall is actually behind me here.

We made £110. Go us. We sold cakes, wrapping paper, cards & Christmas decorations. :)

Now all i have to do is make a piece of artwork. Well actually it's more complicated than that and involves proposals etc. But i'm not stressing about it yet.

Friday was my last day of work until January 5th. Today i plan to tidy the flat and maybe go to the post office, although i'm waiting for a package (my new Nikon D60 -*SQUEE*) and the post office closes in an hour so i may just stay in.

Next on the list i want to learn coptic binding and crochet. Oh and marbleing.

I should really be doing work for my course but it's half term so i feel like i have ages even though i'm working 3 days of it.

The sky is really gloomy yet beautiful today.

Anyway, i've been quite happy lately. Not been doing roller derby because i've had zero money. Just got paid for the first time in weeks so i may go next week if i can.

Been busy with the Art things, learnin g some bookbinding, plaster making and concrete making at college, we're doing welding in a couple of weeks too so that should be interesting as i've never worked with metal before.

I will post more later today :)
